Into everything!

Yup, she's on the move and into everything. Especially Brother's stuff. He's still amused by her, so no complete meltdowns because she's ruined something of his. Yet.

Leaving a trail of destruction
Good shot of her unique crawl

Hi!
Determined

This is the best place in the house. She LOVES hanging out under the table...

What else...

We've been doing the sleeping battle with Lily, so I really haven't had much time to take pictures or blog or basically breathe lately. But it's all good and fine, I'm working on "sleep training" her differently than I did with Wade. I am trying to get her used to the idea of falling asleep in her crib, on her own without crying. We let Wade "cry it out" and I feel like that may have had something to do with his sleep issues now. Side note: Wade is sleeping a ton better. He still doesn't nap much, but he's asleep by around 8 each night. Then, he comes into our room at some point most nights and camps out on the floor. He doesn't cry at night and hasn't had night terrors since those two he had a while back (crossing my fingers). Back to what I was saying... Although crying it out may work for some kids, I think that others are too sensitive to let cry and Wade was one of them, he was too young for us to know that at the time.

This is where the birds go to live. He was pretty sure they needed furniture too...

Making a birdie house with Dad

Sharing. I will keep this to show them later that it is possible.

Anyway, I have taken a few pictures lately. The two of them are so cute. If I ask Wade to watch Lily for a second while a empty the washer or something, I'll find him reading to her or trying to entertain her somehow. Tonight, they were playing a chase game. He would run around the kitchen wall and peek at her, then she would take off after him. She's pretty slow moving though and he would make it through the living room and around to the other side of the kitchen wall before she would get to where he was in the first place. So, she'd turn around and head back in the direction she just came from. Over and over and over. Mark said it was like the tortoise and the hare :)

Tickle, tickle Brother!

9 months

Lily is 9 months old! Here is what this big girl is up to these days:

Crawling! One leg up, the other leg down. It gets her from point A to point B, but not very quickly. Which is fine by me ;)

Pulling up on everything and "cruising" along whatever she pulls up on.
Can stand up without help for few seconds.

Will take steps while holding onto your fingers.

Is getting used to textured food. For a while (and sometimes still) she would gag on or spit anything out that was not completely pureed. However, we did find a few things that she likes to munch on- Cheerio-type cereal, baby cereal puffs, bits of cheese, watermelon and...

Her favorite finger foods are plain, cooked pasta and scrambled eggs (yolks only) and her favorite baby food is still peaches. Could she be more opposite of Wade?!

Can make the sign for "milk." She also uses it as her go-to sign when she's tired. I think she's also tried "more" and "all done" a few times. It's hard to say since she makes gestures with her hands a whole lot.
Watching the puppies play
Loves the fact that she can get into Wade's toys now. I think her favorite is his Buzz Lightyear laser gun. Why stick to the baby toys when you could play with a gun?

Still has 7 teeth. But, tonight I did see that her matching 8th one is on it's way.

Says "Baba" for "brother." Also makes a "puh" sound when she sees the dogs (I always call them puppies for some reason).
Clapped her hands for the first time yesterday. Was so pleased with herself she did it a few more times.

I swear she waved goodbye the other day. She hasn't done it since, so maybe it was just another random hand gesture :)

Knows her name and will (usually, unless she's too busy doing other things) look at you when you call her.

Happy 9 months Baby Girl!

A little more difficult to take pictures this time

And she's off!

Lily's officially crawling- in her own unique way (one leg up, one leg down)! But hey, it gets her from Point A to Point B and that's all that matters, right ;)

Watch out, Wade! Here comes trouble...

Almost there...

It's so funny. Everyone keeps expecting Lily to do things early. We thought she'd be born early, she was almost exactly "on time." Roll over- nope. Pretty much right on schedule. Now, the doc even said she'd be an early crawler, but it looks like she'll be right on at 9 months. If she decides to crawl at all....

Sorry about the crazy formatting on this one... I can't even add captions to the last photos. Have no clue what's going on here!
