12 months old!

Here is the official last chalkboard pictures. This was the hardest yet, she was on the move! Here is what she has been up to these last 4 weeks:

Walking! And trying to run. Anything to keep up with big brother. She started by taking a few tentative steps, then the next day a few more. After that she was pretty much done crawling.

Loves her pink monkey. She sleeps with him every night and she giggles and hugs him whenever he's nearby. So cute.

Loves to stack things. Random toys will be stacked on top of each other. And of course, put into some type of container.

Tries to feed herself with a spoon, which is a big mess but a learning process :)

Has 10 teeth. I only discovered these two new ones today, after my mom had been saying she thought Lily was teething. I didn't think so... I guess I should trust experience :)

Favorite foods include meat (hot dogs, chicken, pork, beef), green veggies (peas, green beans, broccoli), eggs, Greek yogurt, coconut milk "smoothies," strawberries, toast with peanut butter or sunbutter.

Says- boo (for peek a boo), baba (brother), puh (puppies), mama

Sidewalk paint and slime

More science experiements! Sort of...

The other day we made sidewalk paint (cornstarch, water and food coloring), which worked really well and was a big hit.

Another day we decided to make slime. It turned out very cool, especially the more he played with it. Not as wet as it first was (in the pictures) and very much like the slime you buy in the store. It's just liquid starch and glue. The next time we made it, we added blue food coloring to the glue and made blue slime. Super cool!

The Dragons

Wade decided he wanted to try soccer again this season. And again, we were stuck without a coach. Mark couldn't (and REALLY didn't want to) coach again, so a very enthusiastic and sweet mom took the job of coaching the Dragon team. She is doing great with the kids and Wade loves Coach Kellie :) They end every practice and game by roaring like dragons, it's really cute!

And Wade is actually participating this year... However, he remembers the ONE time we took him to Wendy's for a Frosty because he made a goal last season and he thinks that every time he makes a goal now he gets a Frosty. He works his little tail off to make a goal and tries so hard for the whole game. So far, it has only been one goal and he shouted down the field, "Yes! Mom, Dad- I get a Frosty!!" So now we look like we're bribing him to make goals. In 4 year old soccer. Awesome.

Oh, and yes he is wearing a jacket. It was FREEZING for his first game!

Bluebonnets 2013

We went with our friends to a little field in Georgetown to take bluebonnet pictures this year. Sidenote- this time last year Mom & Dad where here and I was STILL pregnant with Lily :) She had already taken her pictures, so she was kind enough to take some of Wade and Lily. The boys mostly ran wild, while we took Lily's one year pictures (and of course snapped some of the two of them together). I let Wade take my camera for a minute and he actually came back with some nice pictures of the flowers. Beautiful day, cute kids, pretty flowers. Turned out better then I expected with a 4 year old and (gulp) almost 1 year old!

... and we have a monkey

So, I was folding laundry in the bedroom and the kids were playing on the floor when I looked up to find this:

Then, once she figured out she could climb onto Wade's little TV tray, she wanted to nose-dive off of it. I showed her how to back down (like going down stairs) and of course we had to practice it over and over and over...

Happy Easter

Before church, I tried to catch a quick shot of the two of them. "Hey Wade, put your arm around your sister." She wasn't having it :)

After church we headed to Shelly's for brunch and some playing time. I also got a couple family shots of us where Mark isn't wearing a grey MSU t-shirt!

Squishing Wade!

Checking out the playscape.

Mary decided to have her kids find their Easter baskets the hard way. They had to untangle a skein of yarn and follow it to the end, where their gifts were hidden in the trunk of her car. She had been planning and plotting this for awhile, they were covered counter-top skillets, like Dave uses to make his turkey breasts :) She's so creative!

When we got home, Lily was beat so I put her down for her nap and Wade hunted for his Easter basket and eggs. Just in time, before it started raining! He found his basket, her basket and all of their eggs. I totally forgot to take pictures of their baskets "before" and didn't get any pictures of hers at all! Oh well... Here he is admiring his loot.

These seemed Easter-y enough, so I thought I'd include them. The roses are starting to come in right now, and smell WONDERFUL!
