When Greg called one day and asked if Wade & I wanted to run the Mudstacle, I thought that sounded like fun. So I asked Wade and he was beyond thrilled. I mean it was running. In mud. What else could a boy ask for?
Everything was explained to us at the beginning. You could either run the short kids 1K or you could do the whole thing, 3K. I was planning on seeing how Wade was doing at the 1K turnaround, and probably calling it quits there. However... the guy who was going to let us know when we were at the kids turnaround forgot to let his replacement person know that was part of the job. So on we ran. And ran. And ran. Annabelle joined Wade and I, and let me tell you, those 2 are runners! We got almost to the end and ran into Greg, who asked us, "So you decided to do the whole thing, huh?" Apparently.
But really it was awesome. I've never run anything before and having Wade with me (& Annabelle!), running nearly the whole thing was pretty fantastic. He immediately started asking if he could do it again next year.
