...Wade got stuck in a pillowcase?
No? Well, read on.
It was nap time for Wade and I was getting Lily cleaned up from lunch (our schedules rarely align lately) when Wade started to cry. Usually he saves that for bedtime, so I figured he was hurt. I rushed into his room to find him squirming around on his bed, shouting, "get me outta here!" Yes, he was stuck inside of his pillowcase. Legs and all. I got him all out and untangled and the kid was a wreck, really scared. I kind of get it- a dark, confined place with no way to escape... I tried to comfort him and reminded him that pillowcases are only for pillows, but I just kept thinking that Mark was going to ask me what happened when I went out and I was going to have to say the words, "Wade got stuck inside of his pillowcase." I had to hide my face so Wade couldn't see my giggling, and when I finally told Mark, I could barely get the words out I was laughing so hard.
Poor kid was so traumatized that he actually slept during his nap time. When he woke up I asked him why he climbed inside of his pillowcase. He said, "because I thought I could get out." I guess that's as good a reason as any...
