and all through the room,
The last cookie crumb and pine needle
was FINALLY swept away with the broom.
The stockings (may or may not) be still hung
by the chimney with care.
Even though it's been awhile
since Santa's been here...
The children's new toys are all nestled
away in their bins,
And their fancy new clothes are
getting nicely worn in.
Mommy in her new pj's and
Daddy in an old, faded pair
(that's a whole 'nother story,
won't even go there...)
Were trying to get back on schedule-
it was sort of askew.
What with him on vacation,
and Wade's MANY days home from school.
The last of the bulbs, decorations and lights,
were being wrapped up and
placed away in the attic
for a season of warm summer nights.
And Mommy has quite possibly
grown a little more willpower.
And tossed out the last of those cookies
that stare at her from the counter.
Or not.
Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and a fantastically uneventful New Year :)
Here are the rest of our pictures from this season:
The days leading up to Christmas were filled with Miss Star (who brought us candy cane seeds this year) and Christmas lights!
Christmas Eve- Candlelight service at church, hot chocolate and cookies at our house, sprinkling reindeer food on the front lawn and, of course, Santa came!
Christmas morning! Wade tore through his gifts and Lily kept up fairly well. The favorites being Wade's new BB gun and Lily's motion sensor kitty cat (which Mark couldn't open fast enough!)
Bowden's house for breakfast in our pj's!
Back home for naps, to get reacquainted with our toys, and to inspect our living room- which seems to have exploded.
Over to Mary & Dave's house for dinner, gifts, and a video chat with Aunt Jay, Uncle Pat and Grandma & Grandpa Schroeder.
The day after- trying out a few of their new toys...
